Leslie Rainer, a 46 year-old teacher at Pompano Beach Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, FL has been accused of calling one of her Haitian students “little chocolate boy” and “chocolate nobody wanted.” While this isn’t the worst of the racist comments Rainer could have used towards her student, it’s still hurtful and just mean, especially seeing as how Rainer is black. She has been suspended for 10 days without pay, but perhaps a resignation is in order.

To make matter worse, Rainer is challenging her suspension saying that the recordings have been altered and shouldn’t even be used because students aren’t allowed electronics in class. She also claims the kid she made the comments about isn’t Haitian and is a relative of her husband. Oh and then just to make sure, Rainer claims she was talking about an actual piece of chocolate on her desk. Ok, so that makes it all better.

Here’s three things about Leslie Rainer that prove she needs to be fired.

1. Sprinkle Holy Water

Rainer’s been under fire in 2010 for teaming up with a fellow teacher to bully an atheist teacher by sprinkling her with holy water in front of students.

2. Haitian Hate

Rainer and the same teacher she teamed up with to sprinkle the holy water also made disrespectful comments about the earthquake in Haiti.

3. It’s Happened Before

This isn’t the first time Rainer’s let her disdain towards Haitians show. She’s already been verbally chastised for comments that she’s made that have been captured on video. Strike one. Rainer should have been let go at that point. According to the administrative report that was filed, Rainer, “made a statement to a student that, ‘I wish they would put you in a boat and send you back where you came from.’…[she also] told a student to stand in the corner near a garbage can because ‘that’s where he belongs.’”
