The NAACP DC Branch and Unity Health Care host our Second Annual Health Fair on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Unity Health Care Minnesota Avenue Health Center located at 3924 Minnesota Avenue, NE Washington, DC 20019 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.  This event is free and open to the public.

One of the strategic priorities of the Washington, DC NAACP Branch is to fight obesity through promoting health and wellness in our community to overcome diet-related illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and asthma.  The purpose of this Health Fair is to provide free health screenings, health and wellness resources, health information and general resources to the community. We will feature health exhibit booths, physical activities, music and free healthy food to ensure a fun-filled health and wellness event.

Through our continued partnership with Unity Health Care, we hope to provide the Ward 7 community with health education, screening and information about additional resources to assist our fight to overcome the chronic illnesses that plague our communities.  We hope to come together as the “village it takes to encourage healthy lifestyles moving our communities forward toward health and wellness.
