This is not the first time we have seen Kanye West overstep his bounds, by far, but this time he has stumbled his way right into the blasphemous with his upcoming album ‘Yeezus’ reported to drop June 18. Kanye West started from more humble beginnings with hits “Jesus Walks” and “All Falls Down” from his debut album “College Dropout”.  The album included more positive messages, and also gained him recognition from the church community, but the title Yeezus has many Christians ‘up in arms’, to say the least. This album title is definitely a play on words since his nickname is ‘Yeezy’, but Kanye is definitely no stranger to controversy. People who do not listen to his music, find that his arrogant reputation often times precedes him.  Could Kanye possibly be trying to pay homage to his Christian beliefs with the new album by insinuating that he is Christ-like, since we are all created in God’s image, according to Genesis 1:27? Or is this his boastful way of saying that he himself is so great, that he should be compared to Christ?  We will just have to wait and see.
