A Maryland mother has been charged with child abuse after leaving her 4-year-old child unattended at a casino parking garage for approximately eight hours.
According to Anne Arundel County Police, crews responded to a Maryland Live! Casino parking garage around 6:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve for an unattended child inside a parked car.
Investigation revealed the child’s mother, 24-year-old Alicia D. Brown of Baltimore, entered the garage around 10 a.m. then went to the casino.
The child appeared to be in good health and showed no signs of physical abuse.
Brown was charged with child abuse, confining an unattended child and neglect of a minor. She’s being held behind bars on a $150,000 bond.
