The six-day old baby boy who disappeared from his bassinet as his mother slept inside a Wisconsin home has been found in “excellent health” inside a tote bag at an Iowa gas station, 180 miles from his house on Interstate 80.

According to sources, Kayden Powell was found swaddled in blankets inside the bag. “Kayden’s family has been notified and efforts are centered on reuniting Kayden with his family,” Beloit, Wisc., Police Chief Steve Kopp reported. Kopp said the incident is not believed to be a custody dispute.

The baby went missing from a Beloit, Wisconsin home on Thursday. 18-year-old Brianna Marshall stated that she woke up around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday and found that her child Kayden was missing from his bassinet. The mother immediately called police.

According to WISC-TV, police said there were no signs of forced entry and since there was no suspect or suspect vehicle an Amber Alert could not be issued. Marshall, a student, does not live at the home where her son went missing.
