It was interesting to me when one of our Facebook friends shared the website BeatingBlackKids.com. Beating Black Kids is a movement that dismantles the negative effects of hitting children. It also deals with the negative effects of those who were beaten as a child. This movement began with the book “Beating Black Kids” by Asanda Kirkland. From this book Asanda has created a number of workshops entitled “raise our skills, not our hands” teaching parents and parents to be about the effects of corporal punishment.
