Former county executive Jack Johnson who is currently serving a prison term for a “pay to play” and corruption scandal has now been disbarred. Jackson who was at one time the counties top prosecutor was disbarred by the Maryland Court of Appeals on friday. In December, Johnson received a prison sentence of more than seven years for taking up to $1 million in bribes and gifts from developers who did business with the government. Johnson was ordered to pay a $100,000 fine and forfeit $78,000 and an antique Mercedes Benz. The scandal also involved Johnson’s wife, Leslie, a former Prince George’s County councilmember. She received a year and a day in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit witness and evidence tampering.Leslie Johnson, who’s to begin her sentence March 9, also has to pay a $15,000 fine, perform 240 hours and serve two years of probation.

Can You Guess What McDonald’s Food Item This Is? Say hello to mechanically separated chicken. It’s what all fast-food chicken is made – things like chicken nuggets and patties. In addition, the processed frozen chicken in the stores is made from it. Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve — bones, eyes, guts, and all. It comes out looking like this. There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Finally, since it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color. People still eat this and feed it to their children!

It looks as if the state of Virginia will follow suit with the bag tax after all and though many people think the bag tax is ridiculous, there have been 26 jurisdictions to date that have implemented similar taxes. I posted this story by Newschannel 8 to explain more……
