(Annapolis, MD)  —   A new initiative is underway in Annapolis to recruit and train potential mentors for youth outreach programs in the city. The Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County will help run the Treasure Hunters Clearinghouse in an effort to find 60 volunteer mentors for programs already up and running over the next year.  This all works in conjunction with the Capital City Safe Streets program, which is aimed at cutting down on crime around Annapolis.  The Treasure Hunters Clearinghouse will get funding from a Community Development Block Grant, the Anne Arundel Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families, and the state-funded Capital City Safe Streets program.  Potential volunteers are being asked to give one hour a week.
