Former county executive Jack Johnson who is currently serving a prison term for a “pay to play” and corruption scandal has now been disbarred. Jackson who was at one time the counties top prosecutor was disbarred by the Maryland Court of Appeals on friday. In December, Johnson received a prison sentence of more than seven years for taking up to $1 million in bribes and gifts from developers who did business with the government. Johnson was ordered to pay a $100,000 fine and forfeit $78,000 and an antique Mercedes Benz. The scandal also involved Johnson’s wife, Leslie, a former Prince George’s County councilmember. She received a year and a day in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit witness and evidence tampering.Leslie Johnson, who’s to begin her sentence March 9, also has to pay a $15,000 fine, perform 240 hours and serve two years of probation.
