According to AlwaysAList.com Earlier this year it was announced that Verity Records would be officially changing its name to RCA Inspiration, and then came word that EMI Gospel will now be known as Motown Gospel.

In the latest name change, the GMC Network – which has already changed its name from the Gospel Music Channel – will now be known as the UP Entertainment.

Its new name, UP, will be official starting on Sept. 1, 2013.

The network believes that the name change is a better reflection of the mix of inspirational programming, uplifting original movies and shows, stage plays and re-runs of series like “227” and “Amen.”

The eight-year old network will also introduce a new logo and on-air look as a part of their rebranding.

The company also has a partnership with Aspire, the upstart African-American-targeted network owned by Earvin “Magic” Johnson.  Check out the entire story on AlwaysAList.com.
