On Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 7:00PM, the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington will officially kick-off with a “Praise and Worship Service”sponsored by the National African-American Clergy Network, Sojourners, and the Christian Community Development Association, National Latino Evangelical Coalition, and the National Council of Jewish Women.   The “Praise and Worship Service” will take place at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 1100 North Capitol Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20002. The 50th Anniversary March on Washington’s “Praise and Worship Service” will be attended by prominent  multicultural and inter-generational faith leaders from across the United States says, Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner, Co-Chair of the National African American Clergy Network, to “join together in pledging to become more unified in fulfilling Dr. King’s dreams as we focus on his messages concerning voting rights, immigration, jobs and care for the poor and racial healing,” she said.  Government and Political leaders will be in attendance as well.

The 50h Anniversary March on Washington, a week long series of events, scheduled from August 21, 2013 to August 28, 2013, will include special events for high school and college students, seminars and workshops , and serious dialogue regarding jobs and the economy, Voting Rights, “Stand Your Ground Laws,” Gun violence, Worker’s Rights, Women’s Rights, Immigration, Youth support and issues; and Environmental Justice to name a few.
