MGM Resorts International has unveiled the design of a proposed casino at National Harbor.

The company gave an update Wednesday on its bid to develop what has been described as an $800 million facility at National Harbor.

Maryland voters approved gambling expansion in November to allow table games and a casino in Prince George’s County.

MGM Resort International’s chief executive officer has described plans to build a luxurious and architecturally unimposing casino and hotel. The company says the casino will have views of the monuments in D.C. due, in part, to its height.

The casino will also feature high-end shops like Tiffany and Co., Hermes and Prada. A fountain out front will also serve as a ice skating rink in the winter.

Two other companies also have applied for the casino license. State officials say they hope to designate the winner the end of the year.
