Police say a D.C. teenager is wanted for evading officers and crashing into a van in Capitol Heights, killing two women.

Crews responded to a hit and run just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of Hill Road and Central Avenue Saturday evening. A van carrying six individuals had been struck — two women, 21-year-old Brittney Queen and 23-year-old Brittney Everett were killed. Four other passengers, including two young children, are expected to be ok.

Preliminary investigation shows earlier in the evening, police pursued a car driven by 18-year-old Ronald Jerome Hayes, Jr. following reports of a shooting in the 7000 block of Walker Mill Road.

Police say as Hayes fled the scene, officers lost track of him. Hayes, traveling at a high rate of speed, turned off his headlights and crashed into the van at Hill Road and Central Avenue. The car he was driving was stolen, and his passenger remains hospitalized with injuries sustained from the crash.

Hayes is wanted for vehicular manslaughter, negligent manslaughter, theft and traffic charges.

If you have any information on Hayes, call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
