Comedian Tracy Morgan remains in critical condition following a six-car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning. Spokesman Lewis Kay says that Morgan’s family doesn’t expect much change in his condition Saturday.

Kay says Morgan “is receiving excellent care” in the intensive care unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, not far from the crash site.

Authorities say Morgan, best known for starring roles on “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock,” was in a limo bus along with six other people at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday morning when an accident occurred on the northbound side of the NJ Turnpike between exits 7A and 8A.

James McNair, of Peekskill, New York, a passenger in the limo bus, died in the crash, according to police. Three others, including Morgan, were in critical condition, and one was in fair condition. Two occupants weren’t injured.

State Police say the accident involved two tractor trailers, Morgan’s limo bus, an SUV and two passenger vehicles, and that preliminarily results indicate one of the tractor trailers is to blame.

Morgan had performed Friday night at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Dover, Delaware, and was scheduled to perform Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The turnpike at exit 7A was closed to traffic for more than five hours, but repoened around 6 a.m.
