The Queen Latifah Show (Sony Pictures Television)

The Queen Latifah Show” may have been cancelled, but the star has not forgotten her workers. As the daytime series wraps up production just before Christmas, staff was only scheduled to be paid until the end of this week, E! Online reports.

But Queen Latifah (pictured), the 44-year-old entertainment mogul, is reportedly using her own money to pay their salaries through the entire holiday season.

“I just got word that Latifah is using her own money to pay the show’s crew through the holidays, even though production has officially shut down,” writes E! Online’s Marc Malkin. As NewsOne reported earlier, the Sony Pictures Television show was canceled in November after two seasons.

Although the production staff is no longer needed, original pre-taped episodes of the daytime show will continue to air through March 2015, reports say.

The series premiered in September 2013, and during its run featured several high-profile guests, including Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith (the show’s producers) Jamie Foxx, and Bill Clinton.

Despite the cancellation, Latifah is still keeping busy in Hollywood. She is slated to star as legendary blues singer Bessie Smith in HBO‘s upcoming Bessie.
