This year marks 25 years in radio for me and I’ve decided I want to start my journey by living clean.  So, today I started JJ Smith’s 10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse.  I’m doing the modified cleanse which consist of two green smoothies (one for breakfast and one for lunch), with one healthy meal for dinner, snack, and water/tea.  The only healthy meal a day may consist of a salad, sauteed veggies, fish or chicken (grilled or baked).  Avoid white sugar, meat, milk, cheese, alcohol, coffee, sodas, processed foods, fried foods and refined carbs during the entire ten days.

Chew your smoothies:  Try to go through the chewing motion as much as possible, as the saliva in your mouth starts the digestive process.  So, in as much as you can remember, try “chewing” your smoothie.  This will also help minimize gas and bloating.  Today’s smoothie wasn’t one of my favs….look at my face…lol

Day #6 Pineapple Berry

2 handfuls spring mix greens

2 handfuls spinach

1 banana, peeled

1 1/2 cups pineapple chunks

1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks

1 cup frozen mixed berries

1 1/2 packets of stevia

3 packs stevia

2 cups water

2 tablespoons ground flax seed

Optional: 1 scoop of protein powder

Place leafy greens and water into blender and blend until mixture is green juice like consistency.  Stop blender and add remaining ingredients.  Blend until creamy.

Spiritual thought:  2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.

Get Reappointed:  All of us become disappointed when we have a plan that fails, a hope that does not materialize, a goal that is un-reached.  When things like that happen, for a certain period of time we experience a letdown, one that can lead to depression if it is not handled properly.

That’s when we have to make the decision to adapt and adjust, to take a new approach, to just keep going despite our feelings.  That’s when we must remember that we have the Greater One residing within us, so that no matter what may happen to frustrate us, or how long it may take for our dreams and goals to become reality, we are not going to give up and quit just because of our emotions.

When you get disappointed, remember you can always make the decision to get reappointed!
