Broncos’ Defense Dominates As Peyton Manning Wins Second Title:
If this was the final game of Peyton Manning’s 18-year career, he couldn’t have scripted the ending much better.
A 2-yard rushing touchdown from running back C.J. Anderson — in addition to a defensive score and three field goals from kicker Brandon McManus — gave the Denver Broncos a 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in front of 71,088 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller, who had two strip-sack fumbles of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, was named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player.
Manning, at 39, is the oldest starting quarterback in Super Bowl history. Going into Sunday, he hadn’t confirmed if Super Bowl 50 would be his last game. But it sure felt that way. And like his boss, Broncos general manager and executive vice president of football operations John Elway, Manning can ride off into the sunset after securing his second championship in his career.
Obamas Lament White House Wi-Fi Situation:
President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama on Sunday discussed their traditions for the Super Bowl, as well as the improvement the President wants to make to the White House for his successor.
In an interview with Gayle King on CBS’s Super Bowl pregame show, Obama said that he hopes to have the whole “tech thing” figured out, adding that there’s a lot of Wi-Fi dead spots in the White House.
The first lady agreed it’s a subject of contention in the house saying, “The girls are just irritated by it,” referring to the Obama’s daughters Sasha and Malia.
Every Chipotle Will Close Monday For A 4-Hour Food Safety Meeting:
Now that Chipotle’s E. coli is outbreak officially over, the company is temporarily shuttering all its restaurants in order to keep it that way.
Chipotle (CMG) is closing all of its stores nationwide for four hours Monday to hold a company-wide staff meeting about food safety. The meeting is slated to run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and CEO Steve Ells will field questions from employees.
