On Friday, February 5th Prince George’s County Police arrested 22 year old Deonte Carraway on 10 counts of felony child pornography. The accused was caught after one of the victims’ uncles saw a nude photo his nephew on the cell phone sent to Carraway through the Kik messaging app. So far, police have discovered 11 victims, but it is suspected that there could be as many as 30 ranging from 9 to 13 years old. Detectives have found 40 videos showing the victims performing sexual acts on each other or alone, but with Carraway’s direction.
According to police, the videos were produced at the elementary school as well as the Glenarden Municipal Center, Theresa Banks Memorial Aquatic Center and in private homes.
Carraway was a volunteer teacher’s assistant at Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School in Glenarden. In the previous 2014-2015 school year, he was also a paid assistant at the school. He was also the director of the Glenarden Voices of Youth Choir. His bond is currently set at $1 million dollars.
