There seems to be a disturbing trend emerging lately that involves pregnant women being murdered by their boyfriends/lovers. Earlier this year, it was a teacher in Louisiana who was murdered after her married boyfriend, who was the principal at the school they both worked at, found out that she was pregnant with his child. Now there is a similar case, but this one involves a former Missouri principal, his pregnant girlfriend and alleged hit man.
Disturbing, sad and devastating are just some of the words that come to mind in the case involving former Missouri school principal Cornelius Green, who is accused of hiring a hit man to murder his pregnant girlfriend Jocelyn Peters back in March of this year. According to The Root, this apparent murder-for-hire is in the very early stages leading up to a future murder trial.

A former Missouri school principal is facing two counts of first-degree murder after allegedly hiring his childhood friend to kill his pregnant girlfriend, KMOV reports.
Jocelyn Peters, 30, was found shot dead in her apartment in late March. She was seven months pregnant at the time of her death and was a teacher at Mann Elementary in St. Louis. According to the report, court records show that the alleged hit man, Phillip J. Cutler of Oklahoma, and Cornelius Green were childhood friends, and Cutler was in St. Louis at the time of Peters’ murder. Cutler’s cellphone was discovered near Peters’ apartment the night of the murder.
“What we have here is an apparent murder for hire,” St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce told the news station. “What we do know is, Mr. Green did send Mr. Cutler through the mail $2,500 cash.” Green, the former principal at Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts School in St. Louis, is being held on $3 million bond. According to his attorney, Scott Rosenblum, he intends to plead not guilty.
There is no word yet on when Green is scheduled to enter his not guilty plea or when the murder trial is expected to begin. Hopefully the victim’s family can find some peace knowing that the investigation of Peter’s death has resulted in the case moving forward.
