UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

Practices, traditions, and institutions begun in the past are expected to continue. Who will sustain them? Jesus was named to give the practices, traditions, and institutions their ultimate meaning and role for the people for all generations.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

When Jesus came into the world, God instituted a new covenant that abolished the old way through which men and women found forgiveness. In His blood we experience the joy of God’s forgiveness and mercy.

It is our faith in the shed blood of Jesus that makes forgiveness and eternal life possible (see Ephesians 2:8-10) In Jesus Christ we have someone who is able to feel our pain and hurts. He is not removed from the human condition. Rather, He is able to feel our pain with us. Not only does He feel with us, but He is also able to minister to us.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, may we appreciate the depth of sin and brokenness out of which you brought us. Grant that we, too, may become instruments of Your grace to those who may not know You as Savior and Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
