This week, The Campaign for Black Male Achievement (CBMA) is hosting the 6th Annual “Rumble Young Man, Rumble (RYMR),” an exclusive convening of local and national leaders in Black Male Achievement to share promising practices and lessons learned, and to create collaborations with young Black men in communities across the country.
Taking place at Louisville’s Muhammad Ali Center, the event will feature remarks by Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer; a city-wide “victory tour” including visits to Ali’s childhood home and final resting place, TKO Boxing Gym, and other Black Male Achievement sites.
Tonight at 6 p.m. CST, RYMR will host a ceremony to recognize six honorees for their work locally and nationally to uplift Black men and boys. This year’s awards ceremony will also present the Lifetime Achievement award to legendary entertainer and humanitarian Harry Belafonte.
“As CBMA heads into the sixth year of hosting the ‘Rumble Young Man, Rumble’ gatherings, we are reminded and inspired by the lasting legacy left by Muhammad Ali and the personification of strength, courage and love for his people and community that he represented throughout his esteemed life and career,” said Shawn Dove, CEO for the Campaign for Black Male Achievement.
