Jan Chamberlin, a soprano with the famed Mormon Tabernacle Choir, has staged her own personal protest again President-Elect Donald Trump, refusing to sing at the upcoming presidential inauguration. While several choir members have reportedly refused to participate in what is typically deemed an honor, Ms. Chamberlin is the only one who has chosen to take her protest public.

In a Facebook post she wrote, “Looking from the outside in, it will appear that Choir is endorsing tyranny and fascism by singing for this man. Tyranny is now on our doorstep; it has been sneaking its way into our lives through stealth. Now it will burst into our homes through storm.” To further express her disapproval, she went so far as to compare Trump to Hitler in the post which has now been removed. With or without protesting members, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, along with the Rockettes, are confirmed to participate and perform “American classics.” The Trump camp is reportedly having trouble securing any “A-list” artists to celebrate his election, a fact they quickly brush off as unimportant. To date, the choir and legendary NY dance troupe are the only ones who have confirmed.
