Where Does Your Satisfaction Lie?

Reflect:

If you could have heaven right now, with no pain or sickness, all your friends and family around you, no conflict, no money problems, and no disaster would you take it? Would you embrace a heaven that displayed all the physical beauties of this earth and beyond? What about this question: Would you be satisfied with all of the above, a beautiful manifestation of heaven, if there was no Christ?

What is our purpose when we think about no longer existing on this earth? When we think about heaven, is it a mere contentment we will see our loved ones again, or be healed of our pain? Or do we truly think about the moment when we get to bask in the glory of God eternally? This is a sobering reflection on our relationship with Christ.

Our intentions may be good, and they may not even be wrong, but they are often misplaced.

God doesn’t exist for us, sisters, we exist for God. When we commune with God, we are bathed in the love that He lavishes on us. We can’t help but find His grace irresistible, and we see that our only satisfaction is and will be forever in Him. Take some time, as will I this week, to examine motives for our relationship with Jesus. When we truly meditate on the gift of grace, we can’t help but fall in love with the One Who loved us first.

Pray:

Father I thank you so much that you love us enough to send your Son to die for an undeserving sinner like me. I pray that you would forgive me when I make my focus about me, and relationship with you lesser than anything in my life. You are my satisfaction, Lord.

Your Turn:

Take some time to pray with God and examine your motivations for a relationship with Him.

Scripture:  Psalm 107:9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Psalm 22:26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied:  they shall praise the Lord that seek him:  your heart shall live for ever!

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
