Paul and Silas were preaching the gospel and of course the powers that be didn’t like that. They had called out a spirit in a woman and in seeing that, they were caught and brought before the magistrate – accused, stripped, beaten and locked in jail.

Now that was enough right there for them to say, God I was doing your will and look where it got me. I’m out. But no. That’s not how the story ends.

Locked in jail, the world against them, in trouble, beaten, wounded, bruised,…they made a conscious decision to STILL lift up a worship, to lift up a praise to the very God of their salvation.

The result? “And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

So what’s the tip? Worship and praise no matter what your circumstance, no matter where you are, no matter what’s going on, no matter what you’ve done or whose done what to you. God will hear you and he will be moved and he will move on your behalf.

Acts 16: 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
