UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

We often feel urges to act in certain ways. Is it okay to question those urges? Acts 9 describes God’s call to Ananias and Saul, Ananias’s questioning reaction, and God’s firm response.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

Spiritual growth and maturity enable us to be open to accepting God’s will for our lives, even when God’s will does not seem to coincide with our sensibilities. Today’s lesson may be a precursor to an opportunity for radical obedience that God may present to you this week. First comes the teaching then comes the test. All of God’s promises are “yes” and amen.” Amen means “so be it,” and that is the attitude that helps us to succeed in the eyes of God. Although God’s assignments may sometimes seem frightening, in the end they produce great fulfillment in our lives and great fruit in the lives of others.

PRAYER:

Dear God, help us to accept your will for our lives even though we sometimes do not understand your will. Help us to trust you even when your will may hurt our pride or cramp our style. In the end, your way is always the best way. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
