A 77-year-old Baltimore County woman was killed Friday after she was struck by a falling tree branch outside her home, county officials said.

The incident comes during what is being called “one of the most powerful windstorms in recent years” by the National Weather Service. The gusts have brought down large trees across the region, pummeling cars and homes and shutting down stretches of highways.

The woman was at home with her husband but went outside to check the mail — that’s when the tree branch fell on her.

Praying for this family.

Please be safe!
