A little over a week before the new year, Pastor David Wright, son of the legendary Grammy nominated artist Rev. Timothy Wright, took to Facebook to solicit prayers for his brother Danny Wright. Danny, is the father of “DJ” who lost his life in the same 2008 car accident that claimed the family matriarch, Betty Wright, and eventually Rev. Timothy Wright. Now, Danny would need the prayers of family, friends, and the church once again. There were no details to David Wright’s initial social media post; just a request. That caused many to be concerned, overwhelming the family with calls and inquiries about Danny’s plight. Eventually, David had no choice but to return to social media and share the challenges Danny faced in a Facebook live video. Danny suffered an aneurysm and massive stroke and was left undiscovered in his vehicle and untreated for hours. Prayers and a miracle were needed indeed, and so we prayed.
Just 2 days before we left 2018, David posted another Facebook message that simply said, “Something happens when the saints begin to pray…MIRACLES.” No further details about Danny’s physical state have been given. But, that was some encouragement to those following his story. Pastor David Wright returned to his pulpit at Grace Tabernacle Church in Brooklyn, NY, where his father once pastored, and led his church into the new year.
