Happy Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day weekend, like most holidays, is a time of celebration for some and a time of grieving for others. For those whose mother is still alive and those mothers whose children are still alive, you celebrate in some way this weekend with your loved ones. But I realize and recognize some of you are grieving right now. I am praying for you! To those whose mother had passed away, I am praying for you. To those mothers who have experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth, I am praying for you. To those who don’t have a relationship with your mother, I am praying for you. To those mothers who don’t have a relationship with your children, I am praying for you. Even those who desire to have children but aren’t able to, I am praying for you too.

If your mother is still alive, take the time to celebrate her! Let her know how much you love her. Let her know how much you appreciate all she’s done and all the sacrifices made for you. Listen, you get ONE mother. One day, she will no longer be on this earth. So treat her right, no matter what, and do right by her. Exodus 20:12 (NLT) says “Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you”.

Today, as you pass women on the street, in the restaurant, in the store or wherever, smile and greet them. Your smile just may make their day a little brighter and a bit easier to get through. Be a blessing to someone else today!
