During yesterday’s general elections, D.C.’s Initiative 71— a measure that legalizes the possession of up to two ounces of marijuana, growth of up to six plants, and sharing up to one ounce of marijuana with anyone age 21 or older — was passed with 64.69% of voters voting in favor of the bill, according to the D.C. Board of Elections.

It is important to note that the initiative still needs to go under congressional review before it can take affect and that it does not permit the sale of marijuana.
