Two ladies were out taking a stroll down historic H Street in the Northeast section of Washington, D.C. on Wednesday afternoon while enjoying the great warm weather.

Well, that stroll was almost fatal if they had left about 1 minute later.

As the ladies past the corner of H Street & Staples Street, the building they just past collapsed and fell to the sidewalk that they had just passed.

Renovations had been underway on the two-story building, located at the corner of Florida Avenue and Staples Street Northeast.

Ironically, as the building collapsed, a large fire truck was at that stoplight!!!  Immediately they jumped into action.

One person was slightly injured by falling debris, but nothing serious.   All workers were accounted for, and a K-9 team has yet to find anyone trapped in the rubble.
