Cedric Nash on the Black Wealth Summit, Community, and Investing

As the Black Wealth Summit returns to the DMV, founder Cedric Nash is continuing his mission to expand access to financial education and economic opportunity within the community. During a recent conversation with Cheryl Jackson, Nash highlighted the summit as a nonprofit-driven initiative focused on educating and inspiring wealth creation. The event brings together financial experts, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to provide insight across multiple areas, including stock market investing, real estate, private equity, and entrepreneurship.
Nash’s passion for the work stems from early exposure to mentorship and financial literacy, which helped shape his understanding of wealth-building at a young age. That foundation led to the creation of the Black Wealth Summit, as well as broader efforts to close gaps in financial education and resources within the community. The summit is designed to meet attendees at every stage of their financial journey. Whether someone is just beginning with minimal funds or looking to expand existing investments, the event offers practical tools and strategies that can be applied immediately. Sessions will also explore emerging areas like artificial intelligence and how it can be used to create new income streams and future-proof careers.
In addition to education, the summit places a strong emphasis on connection and access. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with financial institutions, wealth advisors, and experienced professionals who can provide guidance tailored to their goals. The event also includes a free job fair featuring more than 50 employers, offering direct access to employment opportunities across a range of industries.
With dozens of speakers and a focus on both inspiration and action, the Black Wealth Summit aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and confidence needed to take control of their financial future. The event underscores the importance of continuing conversations around money, investing, and long-term wealth-building within the community. The Black Wealth Summit takes place May 1st – 2nd in Washington, D.C.,
