The Cook County State's Attorney's office said Friday that no criminal charges will come against Chicago, Illinois police officer Robert Rialmo, who fatally shot 19-year-old Quintonio LeGrier and mistakenly Bettie Jones, who was a grandmother standing by LeGrier during a fatal incident in 2015.

Many are outraged that an officer under investigation for fatal shootings was returned to street duty. Officials claim it was a mistake.

The city of Chicago has begun a $5.5 payout of reparations to nearly 60 individuals who were tortured by the police in the 1970s and 1980s.
