Work, meetings, school, family functions, and working out – the list could go on of how many things are on our daily to do list! With all the other things going on in our lives, we don’t have time to let taming our natural hair get in the way. Although hair is probably nowhere to be found on today’s priority list, follow these tips to keep your locks on point even when you’re constantly on-the-go!

Create a schedule. Typically busy people schedule everything, so your hair is really no different. Schedule time to do the basic hair care necessities. Pick a day that you have the least going on to wash, moisture, and style your hair. You don’t have to stick to the same schedule each week, but when you’re putting your to-do list together for the week, don’t forget to pencil in your hair!

Protective style. I know, I know, the answer to everything! But it truly is the best when you’re a busy woman. I honestly couldn’t imagine doing my hair every single day of my life. In the words of Sweet Brown: “ain’t nobody got time for that”! Choose a style that will last at least a couple days. If you’re really one who is pressed for time, try opting for a style that will last a few or more weeks at a time.

Create a mini-travel bag. It’s no telling where you could end up throughout the day. If you can’t stop home to freshen your curls, make sure you have a small travel bag with your natural hair essentials. Almost everything comes in a travel size now, and if it doesn’t create your own with travel sized containers, throw it in your bag, and go!

Minimize your products.  The less you have the better. At the end of the day you can’t use them all at once anyway. Make your life easier by finding a few products that work best for your hair. Sifting through a cabinet or drawer full of products takes too much time that you don’t have.

Take care of your hair within. We all do the best we can with our natural hair, but often times we can’t put in the effort we would like. For this reason, try to nourish from within. This is less time consuming. Try to eat right and drink a lot of water. Nutrition is a big part of sustaining natural hair. We all have to eat right? So enjoy the two-in-one by eating healthy!
