On April 1, a little over a month after making Stellar Award history – taking home 10 of the 10 awards he was nominated for – Anthony Brown celebrated the big win with a “Stellarbration” back in his hometown (DC/Md/Va) where he spearheaded a free concert and award ceremony for the DMV’s hometown heroes at First Baptist Church of Glenarden.

The Baltimore native & group therAPy closed out the concert with a bang after an equally amazing tribute to Richard Smallwood, which featured his choir and an impromptu performance by Smallwood himself. Other artists to share the stage that night, most DMV-bred and others relocated, were Maurette Brown Clark, JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise, VaShawn Mitchell, Tim Bowman Jr., Charles Butler & Trinity, Brittney Wright, Jarmel Evans, Jeremiah Hicks and Whitney Jackson.

Amongst many other local Christian influencers in the area, Radio One Praise DC & Baltimore’s program director Ron Thompson received a service award for his contributions to a higher cause. Stephen Hurd and Praise DC/Baltimore’s Cheryl Jackson hosted the event.
