I sure didn’t see this coming, did you? James Fortune has a new wife and a new baby boy. Now I know that I should say congratulations but I must confess my initial thoughts were not of a congratulatory nature it was more like, “Isn’t this the same guy with the domestic violence issues a few years back? ” “Look it up,”was the reply that I was given and that is exactly what I did.The horrific details of the police report was appalling and an outrage. Isolated incident? The answer would be an emphatic no! His innocent, then 4 year old stepson fell victim to his violent, famous step dad’s temper and that poor baby spent 63 days in a burn center. James Fortune, did seek help with his anger issues and completed therapy and counseling and that is to be commended. I know that his wife is probably elated that she has a new life and child with a man that she loves but did sis really think it through? She married an admitted abuser who completed a 5 day jail sentence and community service for what he did to his wife (excuse me), former wife and a 6 year suspended adjudication for torturing his step son. So I pose the same question, did you really think this through? Now, I truly believe that Mr. Fortune is remorseful and I want to believe that he has been delivered by the blood of Jesus from that vile spirit. I do know with all certainty that all things are possible with God and he loves us so much. But does the risk that his new wife is taking with her and her child’s well being in the belief that her husband has been delivered outweigh the reward? I hope she doesn’t have to find out. So, in your forgiving heart sis also remember when amongst wolves be as wise as a serpent and gentle as a lamb. Bye the way, congrats girl.
