106-Year-Old PG County Woman Sets Sights On Voting Again

At 106 years old, Clementine Ruffin has lived through a century of history, including the momentous suffrage movement that granted women the right to vote in the U.S. Though she was born before that milestone, Ruffin has always made sure to exercise her right to vote. While she doesn’t know the exact number of elections she’s participated in over the years, one thing is certain: her vote will count in the 2024 presidential election.

With the help of her granddaughter, Ruffin is casting her ballot for the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris. When asked what advice she’d give to others her age, Ruffin’s message is simple and clear: “Keep on, keeping on.”

And as for her future plans? Ruffin is hopeful she’ll still be around four years from now, when she’ll be 110, and ready to cast her vote once again.
