Motivational Moment - Patient Kindness
Patience & Kindness – A Motivational Moment
Motivational Moment during Sunday Joy with Ronnette Rollins encourages the listener for whatever they may face during the week, using scripture and practical application. In this Motivational Moment, Reverend Ron Harrison talks about “Patience & Kindness”.
Rev. Ron starts off today’s Motivational Moment by telling a story about a driver, a narrow road, and a very, very important cargo of mashed potatoes and gravy. Can you imagine? Driving with one hundred pounds of mashed potatoes in your car! The person in the vehicle behind her, honking and blinking, had no idea she was basically a mobile Thanksgiving feast delivery service.
Alright, truth-tellers and patience-preachers, it’s your favorite radio host back with another “Motivational Moment” that just hit me right in the feels! We just heard a story about a driver, a narrow road, and a very, very important cargo of mashed potatoes and gravy. Can you imagine? One hundred pounds of mashed potatoes! The person behind her, honking and blinking , had no idea she was basically a mobile Thanksgiving feast delivery service.
It’s so easy to jump to conclusions, isn’t it? We see someone moving slow, or acting a certain way, and our instant reaction is frustration, saying, “What’s their problem?!” But as this story reminds us, we often don’t know the “load they may be carrying”. That person walking slowly might be in pain or maybe they’re just trying to deliver enough food for 200 needy people without spilling a single drop of gravy!
The Bible tells us to ditch the bitterness and be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. If God was patient enough with us “while we were still sinners”, then surely we can extend a little grace to the person who might just be carrying a very precious (and perishable) cargo. Remember to choose patience and kindness today!
