(Washington, DC) — Ten of the nation’s 15 wealthiest counties are located in the Washington, DC area. “MainStreet.com” says according to U.S. Census figures, Loudoun County, Virginia is at the top of the list with a median household income of more than 119-thousand-500-dollars. That’s more than 16-thousand-dollars richer than second-place Fairfax County. What’s more remarkable about Loudoun is that despite a doubling in its population between 2000 and 2010, the poverty rate is only three-point-two-percent. Other counties in the region near the top of the list are Howard County in third place, Arlington County in fifth, Stafford County in seventh, Prince William County in ninth and Montgomery County in 12th.There’s plenty of money in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area!
