Praise 104.1 received the Radio Partner of the year award at The St. Jude Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner Sunday on July 28th in Memphis, Tenn. Ron Thompson, program director of Praise 104.1 accepted the award.
“ On behalf of our Radio One founder and chairperson Cathy Hughes; chief executive officer and president Alfred Liggins; regional vice president Chris Wegmann, and the programming, sales and promotion staffs of Praise 104.1, I humbly accept this award. We are committed to enriching the lives of our listeners through local entertainment and community outreach. The St. Jude Radiothon is one of many ways we can give back to the community we serve. We take pride in assisting those less fortunate. Our goal is not only to raise as much money as we can; it is also to create the most partners in hope. We know how importance this is to the many families here at St. Jude. I also want to thank Orlando Croft, the local event marketing representative in the Washington metro area, his staff and all of our listeners who made this night possible for Praise 104.1,” Thompson said.
This year Praise 104.1 with the help of its listeners, national and local recording artists, and volunteers raised $200,000 dollars.
