This year marks 25 years in radio for me and I’ve decided I want to start my journey by living clean.  So, today I started JJ Smith’s 10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse.  I’m doing the modified cleanse which consist of two green smoothies (one for breakfast and one for lunch), with one healthy meal for dinner, snack, and water/tea.  The only healthy meal a day may consist of a salad, sauteed veggies, fish or chicken (grilled or baked).  Avoid white sugar, meat, milk, cheese, alcohol, coffee, sodas, processsed foods, fried foods and refined carbs during the entire ten days.

You may snack on apples, celery, carrots, cucumbers and other crunchy veggies that are appealing to you throughout the day.  Other high proein snacks include unsweetened peanut butter, hard boiled eggs, and raw or unsalted nuts and seeds (only a handful)

Day #2 Apple Strawberry

3 handfuls spring mix greens

2 cups of water

2 apples (cored & quartered)

1 banana

1 cup frozen strawberries

2 tablespoons ground flaxseeds

1 scoop of vanilla protein

Place leafy greens and water into blender and blend until mixture is green juice like consistency.  Stop blender and add remaining ingredients.  Blend until creamy.

Spiritual thought:  Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Your Mess Can Become Your Message:  I encourage people to let go of their past, but never to run from it.  The only way to gain victory over the pain of our past is to let God walk us back through the doorway of pain and into victory.  No one can achieve victory for us; we have to work out our own salvation.

We have to let God take us through things and let Him work in us so our mess becomes our message.  Difficult things that we have endured in our past prepare us for God’s blessings in our future.
