Love is a word that is tossed around like germs in the air and without regard to what we are really saying. When we speak the words that are implanted with the word Love in it…..we are committing ourselves to an act, a belief and a standard of friendship that forces us to raise the bar. There are two versions of love, the way the world commits to love and the way God commits to love. The world says I love you and it is a love with very rigid conditions. I love you until…..or I love you but if……..We will always be together but never…… The worlds love only loves you when it is in receipt of what it needs to feed its ego, but once its ego is bruised or damaged in anyway, then its curtains for the relationship.
Gods love, though difficult at times is much more rewarding. Gods love maintains a high standard of commitment, truth, compassion, giving and most of all forgiveness. The Word of God clearly states that we are nothing without pure love. Honest, boundless and pure love, suffers long and is kind; does not envy; does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
