Inevitably every February there are a few ignorant (white) people who have a mini crusade to eradicate Black History Month.

The national holiday that was officially founded in 1976 through the efforts of Civil Right’s leaders and students, has become the one month in the entire year when Black Americans are celebrated for their tremendous, life saving and vital contributions to the United States– and really, entire planet.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Some people still think there’s no reason to single out one –very oppressed group of– people, when Caucasians have no month of their own. And despite having socio-economic, legal and essentially every other advantage in this country, they complain.

There are even trolls like Stacey Dash who have voiced the need to get rid of the celebratory month– mind you, the shortest month in the year. “Either we want to have segregation or integration,” said the actress, who is Bajan, African American and Mexican on Fox & Friends.

“And if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re Black,” she added. “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

And we all know what happened after that.

Going in a progressive direction, “MTV Decoded” host Franchesca “Chescaleigh” Ramsey did an informative video on what life would be like without the contributions of Black people. Spoiler alert: Life would be sad.

Watch, laugh and learn in the video above. And we strongly suggest you let your kids see this too!
