Page Six reports, Taraji P. Henson has had to back out of attending the starry Met Gala on Monday to attend a more somber affair — the funeral of “Boyz n the Hood” director John Singleton.
Henson was supposed to attend the Met Gala with designer Vera Wang. This year’s theme for Anna Wintour’s Super Bowl of fashion is “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” and we hear that Wang’s look for the “Empire” star was spectacular. “They had an epic look planned,” said a source.
But Henson sadly had to cancel her appearance at the 11th hour. “She had Vera’s full support and blessing,” said an insider.
