It’s April 15, better known as tax day, meaning taxpayers have until midnight to file their federal tax returns. D.C. and Maryland returns are also due Monday, though  aren’t due until May 1. If you’re scrambling to file before time runs out, here are the local tax offices and post offices that will be open late on April 15:

TAX OFFICES: 

The District’s Office of Tax and Revenue is extending its hours through 6 p.m.

In Maryland, the tax office in Wheaton (11510 Georgia Avenue) is extending its hours until 6 p.m.

POST OFFICES:

D.C.:

The Friendship Post Office (4005 Wisconsin Ave. NW) will be open until 6 p.m.

The National Capitol Post Office (Massachusetts Ave. NE) will be open until 7 p.m.

Maryland:

The Glen Burnie Post Office (7596 Ritchie Highway) will be open until 5:30 p.m.

Post offices in Columbia (6801 Oak Hall Lane), Frederick (201 East Patrick Street) and the White Flint Mall (11301 Rockville Pike) will be open until 6 p.m.

Gaithersburg’s Suburban Window Service (16501 Shady Grove Road) will be open until 7 p.m.

Columbia’s CPU Cradlerock location (6810 Cradlerock Way) will be open until 8 p.m.

Virginia:

Post offices in Alexandria (1100 Wythe Street), Ashburn (44715 Prentice Drive), Chantilly (4410 Brookfield Corporate Drive), Franconia (5221 Franconia Road), Herndon (590 Groove Street), Potomac Falls (46164 Westlake Drive), and Prince William (3360 Post Office Road) will be open until 6 p.m.

The Merrifield Post Office (8409 Lee Highway) will be open until 8 p.m.

If you’re not ready to complete your tax filing, make sure to file for an extension online, through your tax preparer, or using the download-able federal form 4868. Just remember — this, too, is due by the end of the day.
