John 13:34-35 | “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
The following video is part of a “Real Reality” TV show, however, I have seen this type of scenario play out WAY too many times in real life settings, and the behaviors are not limited to strictly racial issues. Even in the church today, we turn away folks who need us most, or are so disrespectful of their circumstances or lifestyles that they become hurt. A look at the video underneath shows that perhaps people who the church deem “Un-Christian like” or “Wrong”, truthfully possess more of a Christ-Like attitude than those of us who think we have it all together.
Two of my favorite quotes from Edmund Burke, although not necessarily biblically based, fit perfectly well here. Who says that the only good advice we should take heed to comes from the Bible?
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
“Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.”
