UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:
Preparation for leadership may involve life circumstances not of one’s own choosing. How do we respond when we find ourselves in such circumstances? Even before Samson’s birth his call was assured, as shown by the instructions that the Lord’s angel gave to his mother.
A man becomes a man through the shouldering of responsibility. The Bible also makes reference to a “just” man. A just man is one who obeys the commands of God and lives in intimate personal relationship with God and in respectfully harmony with his fellow human beings. Since God is a just God, God just dispense judgment as well as grace. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)
LORD, thank you for your abundant supply of mercy and grace. Thank you for your gifts and for filling us with your divine potential. Please help us to be aware of our sinful flaws and to have the courage to apply your light of love to our areas of darkness so that your Word, your will and your ways might be demonstrated in our everyday lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
