History, and particularly Black history, is one of the hardest things to get people excited about. It is about things that have happened to us as a people, culture, and society in the past. Most would prefer to live in the future. However, we know that when you do not know your history, you are destined or doomed to repeat it. John W. McCaskill of History Alive has found exciting ways to literally bring history alive. He dresses in period attire with sounds and mannerisms are those of historic African American figures, as he shares the words, lives, and stories of such greats as Dr. Martin Luther King, Tuskegee Airmen, Frederick Douglass and others.
