As I watched in horror as torrential rains poured on the residents of New Bern, NC and surrounding areas from Hurricane Florence. I just was literally frozen in place to see the path of destruction that was left behind.  New Bern, NC; A placed that I called home for many years. The town in which I raised my daughter from elementary, middle and high school. I remember often times going to the waterfront, Union Point, feeding the ducks, walking around, playing badminton, writing and just a place of relaxation.

My daughter, who now lives in Charlotte, NC, called me with such despair and a quiver in her voice as she told me that people were standing on the roof with their children waiting to be rescued. She sent me a picture of one of the grocery stores that we frequented and there were no visible signs that a grocery store had ever been there. New Bern, NC, the home of Pepsi, once the capital of NC and taken over by Union soldiers during the Civil War must and WILL rebuild. I stand in unity with New Bern, NC, and surrounding areas and hope that you join me in prayer for healing, strength, and restoration in the name of Jesus. Amen
